At the Eritrean Christian Church of Sacramento, every part of our ministry is carried out by dedicated volunteers. At this time, the church has no paid ministers or staff. All leadership, teaching, administration, and ministry work is faithfully performed by members who serve with commitment and humility.
Board of Elders
Our Board of Elders provides spiritual oversight, administrative leadership, and pastoral care for the church.
Asmerom Ghile — Chairman
A co‑founding member of ECCS, Asmerom has faithfully led the church since its early years. In addition to administrative leadership, he teaches, oversees ministries, and provides pastoral care. According to the church bylaws, the pastor chairs the board; in the absence of a pastor, the pastor’s aide or the secretary assumes the role. When no pastor has been elected, an elder fulfills these responsibilities. Asmerom is married, has three children, and works full‑time at the State Controller’s Office.
Biniam Semere— Secretary
Biniam has been part of ECCS since its beginnings and has served in multiple roles beyond his secretarial duties. He prepares meeting agendas with the pastor or chair, records minutes, maintains church archives, drafts letters and reports, and preserves the church’s historical records. He also chairs meetings when the chair is absent. Biniam is married, has four children, and is a full‑time employee of PG&E.
Minasie Ghebresslasie — Treasurer
A co‑founding member of ECCS, Minasie has served the church in many capacities. As Treasurer, he receives and manages church funds, disburses finances according to the elders’ decisions and annual budget, maintains financial records, and oversees asset management in coordination with the deacons. Minasie is married, has four children, and works full‑time at Priory Parking.
